Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone, known as Madonna was born on August 16th 1956, in Michigan.  She had seven siblings and at the age five, Madonna’s mother, Madonna Ciccone died, which was very hard on her.  Her father, Sylvio Ciccone worked for General Motors as a design engineer and had to raise all the children on his own when the love of his life passed.

Madonna spent most of her time dancing and received a dance scholarship to the University of Michigan.  She attended school for two years, before deciding to move to New York City to follow her dreams of becoming a professional dancer and rock singer.  She soon became a ballet dancer and danced for the Patrick Hernandez Revue.

Eventually she met and teamed up with Dan Gilroy to form the band, Breakfast Club.  After soon realizing that the band was a mistake, she jumped into another band, Emmy with Stephen Bray, which released several hit singles.  In 1982, Madonna released the album, Madonna, which became a huge success.  She dignified what real pop music was all about.

She has made history with her great efforts and incredible performances.  Madonna has won MTV Music Awards, Grammy Awards and a Golden Globe.  Now she has her own record label and is a music legend.  She will be in the history books for decades to come.
