Jennifer Aniston Bio

Jennifer Aniston was born in Sherman Oaks, California on February 11th 1969.  Her father, John Aniston is an actor and her mother, Nancy Dow Aniston is also an actress.  Both of her parents are Greek and often the family would go to Greece and spend some time in their home town.

Later on when Jennifer was young girl, her family packed up and moved New York.  Her father landed the role of Victor Kiriakis on the daytime Soap Opera, Days of Our Lives.  Unfortunately, a few years after they relocated to New York, her parents separated.  Jennifer was only nine when this happened and after the divorce, her mother continued to raise her in New York City.

Around ten years old, Jennifer saw the Broadway play, Children of A Lesser God and was inspired to act.  She knew right away that she wanted to take acting classes, so her mother enrolled her in the Rudolf Steiner School, where she joined the Drama club.  By age 11, she had developed her passion for art and one her painting was displayed at an exhibit at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Aniston was accepted into the New York High School for The Performing Arts.  In 1987 she graduated High School and decided not to go to college, so she could explore and pursue her career of becoming an actress.  She landed a spot in an off-Broadway production, before finally getting the role of Courtney in the television series, Molloy.  Jennifer got a couple of small roles in television before landing her breakthrough role as Rachel Green on Friends.
