Gwen Stefani is pure star quality. She is an American pop and rock singer. Gwen is also a dancer, songwriter, fashion designer and has even been in film or two. The rock band No Doubt made Stefani who she is today. Her success has not stopped climbing since No Doubt started.
In 2005 the Ska band, No Doubt came out with the album Tragic Kingdom, which sold over fifteen copies worldwide. The band’s popularity began to grow and grown, but did decline when the band produced and released their first ever reggae album. Eventually, Stefani left the band and started to record a solo album, Love Angel Music Baby, which released in 2004.
Her solo album featured pop, dance, hip hop and R&B tracks. A few of her singles were extremely popular and topped the charts. No one saw this coming and the media were the first to pick right up on the singers success, following her continuously. Not only was her music popular, but her style became popular as well. She was a fashion trendsetter and in 2003 she came out with her own clothing line, L.A.M.B. The clothing line also included accessories and new material will be released sometime in 2007.
Throughout her solo career, Gwen received five Grammy Award nominations for Album of the Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, Record of the Year and Best Rap Collaboration in 2005. Unfortunately, she did not take home any wins.
Gwen Stefani plans on going on her international Sweet Escape Tour starting in April 2007. The tour was postponed previously because of the birth of her baby boy, Kingston. The tour will visit North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. She can’t wait for the tour to start.
In 2004, Stefani played the role of Jean Harlow, making her acting debut in the film, The Aviator and also made an appearance on the television show Hollywood vs. Hollywood, The Aviator episode where she played herself. The episode aired December 15, 2004. It was a documentary including other credited casts such as, Kate Beckinsale, Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Gwen met lead singer, Gavin Rossdale at a No Doubt concert in 1995 and they hit it off right away. They got involved in a long distance relationship and have been able to stay together all this time. In 2002 the couple married and ended up having two weddings; one in the United States and the other in the United Kingdom.
Three years later, they announced that Gwen was expecting a child. This would be their first child together. For years the couple has tried to keep their relationship out of the media, but since their baby Kingston was born their lives have been chaotic. The media has tried to get any picture that they could of the couple and their new baby boy.
